⦁ Moola Chotok, Khuzdar
Another hidden gem rather recently discovered from Balochistan, Moola Chotok in the Khuzdar district is some 500kms away from our Karachi. It is an oasis that is basically what a perfect getaway looks like. However, the fact that it isn’t the easiest place to reach in terms of convenience, you might want to be well prepared about how to get there and what problems you might face.
To get there, you start by taking the Quetta Highway to Khuzdar and then make a move into a 4×4 till you reach the baseline of the hill. Make sure you’re on a 4×4 or this is going to be an impossible journey. Follow the ride up with a 10 minute hike and there you are at this marvel of a location! Enjoy in the natural pool along with having fun with the beautiful waterfall.

⦁ Keenjhar Lake
Everyone has probably heard of this one in either newspapers, advertisements or in their geography books! The water might not be as clean and clear as Moola Chotak but is definitely good enough for some swimming, boating and fishing. It is a peaceful place and away from the noise that Karachi as a metropolitan serves.
Keenjhar Lake is around 120 km away from Karachi and much closer to Thatta. Not only is it just another lake but is the second largest freshwater lake in Pakistan. Yeh bhi shayad aapko geography ki book say yaad hi hoga!
The surrounding wetland of Keenjhar Lake is home to a lot of wildlife as well! This includes ducks, flamingoes, ibises, gulls and several other birds. It is an extremely fun place to be at with your friends or family. Whichever one you have more fun with!
The place also has historical relevance as it is home to the shrine of Noori Jam who was a fisherwoman in love with Prince Jam. Interestingly enough, this shrine is right in the middle of the lake. Matlab, tafreeh, history aur sakoon? Wo bhi ek jaga? Jaldi chalo!
⦁ Hingol National Park/Kund Malir Beach
This is one of the most fascinating places for a weekend getaway as far as Karachi is concerned! It is a huge area that has been considerably spread over 6000 square km. This area is spread amongst arid, Rocky Mountains and a terrain that falls very much in the mountainous arena. It can be considered a coastal semi-desert! This very area is also home to the famous Hungol River that is surrounded by a plethora of nature! Indian Fox say leaky Sindh Ibex tak aur Chinkara Gazelle say leke Jungle Cat tak, there are plenty of animals, birds, reptiles and creature found amongst the arid, coastal and deserted land.
Another thing that makes this area rather popular is the Princess of Hope rock formation. It is known all over the country and makes a big part of the park. Once you are done with the park itself, the Kund Malir Beach is right there to refresh and relax for you!

⦁ Gorakh Hills
Karachi ki garmi say bachnay ka asal tareeka tou Gorakh Hills hi hai! Where all of Sindh remains warm and rather hot, Gorakh Hills make a place where people can go cool down for the weekend!
It falls into the region of Kirthar Mountains and is at a whopping height of 1734m! That is pretty high up! It is high enough for star gazing sometimes as well!
Gorakh Hills are filled with natural beauty and the activities that can be carried out here! Activities include camping, bonfires and stargazing.
⦁ Bhit Shah
Talk about History, Sufiism, Good Food, and a spiritual experience and your answers will come in the form of a trip to Bhit Shah! Bhit Shah is a rather small town in Sindh and is home to the shrine of a revered Sufi Poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. Inka naam tou aap har saal ki provincial holiday say jaantay hi hongay! The place is around 200kms away from Karachi and is an experience of a lifetime.
