If you’ve ever tried to sell your car in Pakistan, you will know it can go two ways. The first scenario involves many headaches, but you get a good price, that’s when you sell it yourself. The second scenario is relatively easy, but you often end up getting a low price. That is when you have used a car dealership to sell your car.
Thankfully, there is now a third, more reliable way to sell your car.
CarFirst and VavaCars are third-party dealers who take the hassle out of having to sell your car. Additionally, these vendors are transparent and reliable to take away fears of selling your car for a bad price.
How to Sell Your Car
Using CarFirst and VavaCars is as easy as taking your car in for an oil change.
VavaCars
VavaCars started in 2019. It is an international brand with operations in Turkey. Currently, VavaCars only operates in Karachi, with six inspection centers across the city. The process to sell your car at VavaCars is simple.
1) Book Your Appointment
Visit the VavaCars website and enter the details of your car. These include make, model, and trim levels. Next, enter your contact details to book your appointment at the nearest VavaCars inspection center.
After providing all relevant details, VavaCars make an initial offer/valuation of your car even at this stage. This valuation is subject to change after a final inspection.
2) Visit the Inspection Centre
Drive to your nearest inspection center at the allotted time. Here VavaCars professional inspectors will evaluate your car’s condition. Based on this inspection, the initially quoted price might increase or decrease.
The process of selling your car through VavaCars is completely free. There are no charges for the initial valuation, nor the inspection.
The seller is required to bring original documents to the inspection center. These include your car’s registration book, complete original vehicle documents, valid CNIC, and authority letter (only required if the owner is not present). Additional documents may be required, varying on a case-by-case basis. An example of this is the auction report if your car is imported.
VavaCars claims an under 60-minute time frame for inspection and final valuation. During this time, the sellers can sit back and relax in a comfortable lobby at the inspection center.
3) Sell Your Car
The final valuation price is valid for five days. During this time, the seller can agree or refuse to sell their car.
Once a price is agreed upon, VavaCars takes over and handles the complete process of selling your car, including documentation.
VavaCars then takes upto one business day to check the validity of all provided documents. VavaCars releases the payment once all documents are verified.
A delivery letter and sales receipt are issued to the customer once a sale is finalized. Payment is made through secure and transparent channels via pay orders or cross-cheque.
CarFirst
CarFirst had a first-mover advantage as it launched in 2016 , almost four years before VavaCars. As such, it has a larger operational presence. CarFirst is available in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, and Hyderabad, with over 35 purchase and sale centers across these cities.
Selling your car at CarFirst is incredibly easy.
1) Book an Appointment
Visit the CarFirst website and enter details of the car you want to sell. The website will then issue an initial valuation. Important details that will factor in the valuation are model year and mileage.
After an initial valuation is presented, the seller will have an option to book an inspection appointment. The inspection is critical to get an accurate price as the initial valuation does not account for wear and tear. Find the nearest CarFirst center and confirm your appointment.
2) Visit the Purchase Centre
Drive to your appointment on time. Unlike VavaCars, CarFirst also does walk-ins; however, this involves a longer process.
CarFirst requires the original owner to be present. In contrast, VavaCars needed an authority letter if the original owner was not present. Additional documents include the original book, file, warranty book, service documents, and all available duplicate keys.
3) Sell Your Car
After a final valuation has been issued post-inspection, the seller can decide to sell their car. In contrast to VavaCars, CarFirst has more options. The seller may sell or exchange their car.
These options are possible due to CarFirst also offering a service to purchase available cars from their centers.
After a sale price is agreed upon, CarFirst handles document processing and issues a pay order in the name of the original owner.
CarFirst and VavaCars have made selling your car in Pakistan a lot easier. However, in certain cases, these brands will not be able to facilitate sellers.
Both services do not buy commercial, government-registered, or non-custom-paid cars. Additionally, the cars must not be on an open letter, have structural or water damage, and must not have previously deployed airbags.
Both VavaCars and CarFirst have a seamless process for selling your car. Choosing between the two comes down to where you live. If not in Karachi, then CarFirst is your only option.
