Time to Say Cheese! Meat The Cheese Reviewed

Meat The Cheese Location

Meat The Cheese – I hope we continue to meet.

Be it a Meat The Cheese review or any other restaurant, you have to start by talking about the Karachi food scene. Karachi and food are two synonyms you can use interchangeably. As such, the food scene in K-Town is never stagnant. Every week restaurants pop up almost as quickly as they die down.

Therefore, opening a restaurant in Karachi is not tricky; keeping it running is the real challenge. Only the excellent restaurants get to keep going, and only the extraordinary get to expand.

Meat The Cheese is one “newish” restaurant that has propelled through Karachi not only to open a second branch, but also expand to Lahore.

Let’s find out why in this Meat The Cheese Review.

Location

Meat The Cheese started in 2017 with one outlet in DHA. In 2020 they expanded to open a new location at Tipu Sultan.

We ventured out to Tipu Sultan on a Tuesday to find a fully packed restaurant. Tipu Sultan is an ideal location to target due to the proximity to the highly office-dense Sharah-e-Faisal.

Firstly, the interior design is on-brand with wood accents and plenty of black and yellow as per brand colours. Secondly, the floor plan is open and airy with lots of natural light in contrast to the DHA branch, which is more cramped. These two factors make Meat The Cheese a very pleasant place to dine at.

Meat The Cheese Review – Food

Meat The Cheese brands itself as “an urban cheese cellar lounge and a steakhouse.” Perfect for a casual, hearty dine out with friends and family.”

As such, the menu features plenty of chicken and beef options with burgers and pizzas sprinkled in—obviously all predominantly featuring an aspect of cheese.

1) Appetizer

Beginning our journey through the land of cheese, Meat The Cheese offers some great options for starters.

There are classics like chicken strips, fries and jalapeno poppers but with a twist to incorporate cheese elements. Our favourites were the Old Fella Mozzarella and Dropping Bombshells. The former is essentially mozzarella sticks served with marinara sauce, and the latter are cheese balls.

What stands out is the quality of cheese served—remarkable taste without being too overwhelming.

2) Mains

Moving on to the main course. There are plenty of chicken and burger options to choose from. Restaurant review groups on Facebook have been raving about Deep Fried Pride and The Patty Animal.

We opted for The Patty Animal and the fillet mignon for our mains. Our food was served in 15 minutes and boy was it worth the wait!

The Patty Animal featured a juicy beef patty topped with a deep-fried cheese patty wrapped in a soft burger bun. Served with a side of fries, this is one of the best burgers I’ve had in Karachi.

The fillet mignon was next, served with a side of sauteed vegetables, two sauces and cheese topped potatoes. Although, not the best steak I’ve had in Karachi, this was in the top five. Our steak was cooked precisely to medium-rare and the flavours were incredibly balanced.

3) Dessert

To round off the meal we ordered the Lotus Cheesecake. Hands down one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had in Karachi. The taste was right on point, and the base was perfect. Lotus Biscoff desserts seem to be the newest craze. Read our top five Lotus Biscoff desserts in Karachi.
