Now, with the temperature change come the soughaat of the winter season. Dry fruits, Nihari, paayay, and other dishes are all part of the winter festivities.
But, the one winter dish that stands out among the rest is – soup.
Soup is enjoyed during the winters throughout Pakistan, but it has become a tradition in Karachi. This is evident by the multiple local soup spots opening up in the city.
However, not everyone can make a soup that satisfies the complicated taste buds of Karachiites (The rest of Pakistan: *eye rolls*).

1) Al-Hussaini Chicken Corn Soup

Al-Hussaini Chicken corn soup is one of the most popular soup spots in the city.
It is located in the bustling Hydri, North Nazimabad area of Karachi, alongside many other street food vendors.
However, people are mostly interested in Hussaini’s soup and wait in long queues for a soup bowl.
The soup itself is a classic, presented with all the usual fix-ins such as hot sauce, soy sauce, boiled eggs, and kaali mirch.

2) Mama Soup

Mama soup serves top-quality soup on a thaila in the Lucky Star, Saddar area of the city.
The locals of the area swear by its taste and quality.
Mama soup offers the best bang for your buck. One bowl has a sufficient amount of soup and chicken, along with their hot sauce, soy sauce, spicy chips, and boiled eggs.

3) Uncle Madina Chicken Corn Soup

Uncle Madina was already a popular name for gola ganda on the Dhoraji food street. Now it’s trying to take over the world of soup.
The soup is a bit expensive compared to some of the other soups on this list. However, it does come with tasty fried pastry bits, more commonly known as paapdi.
Do give uncle Madina’s chicken corn soup if you’re at Dhoraji for some gola ganda.

4) Peshawari Soup House

Peshawari soup house, popularly known as Paposh soup, is famous for its batair (quail) yakhni soup.
They are located in Paposh, block 5, Nazimabad, which is not a familiar food spot in Karachi. But, Karachiites are attracted to the place because of the Peshawari soup.
Moreover, the soup comes with a batair piece, which is unique for a soup spot. However, you can choose to have it without the big piece of meat.
