Biryani is the national favorite dish of Pakistan so its obvious that Karachiites are always in search of the best (or better) biryani out there. A perfect plate of biryani consists of some aromatic rice, tender chicken/beef pieces and a wide variety of some of the most perfect sides like raita and salad; Raita to provide some coolness to spicy biryani and the Salad to add some crunch to every bite. For years, people have preferred to eat homemade biryani instead of going out to eat but over time, that perspective has changed and people have slowly started to discover these hidden gems located all around the city.

1. Madni Biryani

They serve one of the best biryani in town. High on the spice meter, tender meat chunks and a delicious raita, make eating from this place a delight. It’s love at every bite.

2. Haji Biryani

If you are a true Biryani lover, you will have to make the efforts of traversing through Jamshed Road to reach Haji Biryani. The Special Beef Biryani for Rs.240 only has the divine aroma, a delicious combination of spices & rice with absolute perfect steam.

3. Allah Wala Biryani

Allah Wala Biryani House, located at Shahrah-e-Qaideen, serves one of the most authentic biryani in Karachi. This particular biryani is a star performer. They truly believe in keeping it simple and delicious. The place isn’t all that fancy, but you will surely overlook that fact once you try what they have to offer. They serve Chicken Single Biryani for Rs.150 and Beef Single Biryani for Rs.160 only

4. Jeddah Biryani

Most of the time the biryani at Jeddah Biryani is mild and flavorful. Their raitais a must-have for an added zing. If you are fond of classy ambiance then this isn’t a place for you.

5. Baba Biryani

What’s really interesting about these new Biryani places is their names which play a major role in attracting customers. When I first heard of Baba Biryani, I was not sure if I should spend money and try a new place, but I am so glad that I did. Now it’s one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite from. Both their Chicken and Beef Biryanis are extremely palatable and have a good kick to them. There is a variety of different Raitas and the Salad is also reasonably priced and always fresh.

6. Rice Station

Rice Station is relatively new but it has some really different and delicious options for Biryani. Their Prawn Biryani is always presented nicely and has a generous amount of prawns in them that are mildly spiced. The serving size is enough for 2 people if you are not that hungry and if you cant handle the heat then there is always some cool raita available. Rice Station only offers dishes that are made with rice so if you are in the mood for some hygienically prepared dishes then this is the place for you.
